error message 8004020E

I recieve an error message which is 8004020E
When I try to copy music into my CD, it converts properly but it doesn't
copy into the CD. I get this error message saying "An invalid alignment was
specified."
My Windows Media Player Version is 8.00.00.4487
My Windows Operating System is Windows XP (Home Edition) Version 2002
Service Pack 1.
Is it possible that a CD is too advanced for a computer. For example a
Memorex CD-RW Ultra Speed 16X-24X?
