Advanced Tag Editor Problems

When I try to change the tags on some mp3's (mainly album and genre fields),
the info I entered is deleted soon after I update it. In the library options
window, under retrieve additional info from the internet, i have only got the
"only add missing info" box selected. Turning the entire feature off seems to
fix this, but in doing so most of the player's useful internet features are
also disabled, which I do not want to happen. I there anyway to prevent the
wmp from doing this
