error message after download

When I try to open mp 10 I get fole wmp.dll has version number if 9.0.03008
when
9.0.0.3075 was expected. Not properly installed.
Also , after the download, I kept getting "didn't pass windows logo test".
My laptop is new and legal in every way. Now what?
