C00D1199 - I have done everything I am supposed to Chris Lanier

I have seen many posts here regarding the 1199 error message. I have read
Chris Lanier's advice as well goiong to his blog for more help. I have had
this problem since I rece'd my new Dell with WMP 10 - I had been using 9. I
am downloading videos off the web with the extension .wmv, which I have never
had trouble playing. I have downloaded videos from several different
websites, residing in many different countries, therefore I cannot imagine it
would be a codec that they are compressing the video with that is causing the
problem. Additionally, none of their websites mention needing a special
codec, just WMP 10. I have also been to Microsoft's downloads page and
downloaded the available codecs for 7.4 and higher. Ironically, I can watch
the videos in a streaming format while on these sites but not once downloaded
to my computer. Any help would be much appreciated.
