Without knowing what "file" you mean, the best advice anyone can give you is generic:
If a file is corrupt, obtain a new copy of the file.
Windows Media Player - any media player - can only play files in the formats
it supports. Sometimes it's possible to install third party software that
makes it possible for a media player to play formats it does not natively
support.
