Hi,

I have recently installed WMP10 on my PC, and have noticed that every 15
minutes or so when playing music stored on my hard drive that it becomes very
laggy for about 2 minutes. During this time the audio becomes time-stretched
for a couple of seconds and then freezes altogether along with windows for a
minute or so.

This happens if Media Player is open but not playing anything, and does not
happen at all with Media Player closed down.

SYSTEM
Compaq Presario
P4 (1.50GHz)
1.25 GB of RAM
XP Home (SP2)
40Gb HDD for O/S (1/6th full)
180Gb HDD for audio files (only 4Gb of data on disk)

System is all up do date with windows updates and drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
