ERROR MESSAGE CD001199

Since upgrading to XP SP2, Windows Media Player 9 will not play Audio CDs.
I upgraded to WMP 10 still no success.
Is there a fix/patch for this?
Just checked on another PC with XP sp2 WMP9 same problem.
I have been reading the other posts relating to this subject - no solution
yet.
