I contacted Panasonic UK about unplayable MP10 WMA files on my not very old
CQRDP383N, are there any firmware up-dates? They replied no. Asked if they
planned any, they said no.

I then asked how do I create WMA files under MP10 that play and have
received no reply, and that was mid November.

Currently converting using MP3 @ 160kps on my main PC, which plays fine and
dandy and some conversions via my wifes portable that is currently running
MP9 and that plays fine as well.
