Ah. So you are indeed able to burn CDs, it just fails. That sounds about
right: the idea that the option is not present or does not ever work was
kind of wiggy.
The IMAPI 1.0 burner XP uses (and thus WMP uses) is a free burner. You
don't get great quality burners for free. That's just me commenting as a
fellow user - I bought the Nero burner ( http://www.nero.com ) because it is
worth it. The IMAPI burner is a toy. This may help you make it work:

, but at this point IMAPI is limited enough that you will find yourself
enjoying your Nero purchase, I'd think.
