8007000D error on installing WMP

no error message, windows 98, no updates available, just downloaded most
recent.
received and email with audio message. after clicking on icon, window said i
needed to download WMP. I did and after download completion, WMP Error
Message Help page popped up. I went to desktop and opened MWP and clicked on
something to play and same error # appeared.
