Do you know if you have a separate sound card installed (an actual card that
seats on the board) or if your sound is built into the motherboard? If you
are using a gateway or dell or other mainstream computer, you might find a
tag on the back identifying your system and can go to their website and see
the configuration.
You can also open the case and look, but alot of people aren't comfortable
with that.
