WMP 10 won't install several errors

Running WinXP pro with SP2 and all the patches up to 10-14-2004 and trying
to install WMP10 results in:
It was not possible to complete setup, reinstall Windows Media Player 10
from Website, I do that and get the same message again.....
WMSETUP!).LOG results:

Searched on Technet and Google, but didn't find any solution!
