MPEGs and AVIs play upside down!

I'm running XP SP1 with WMP 9.00.00.3075 and a strange thing happened a
few days ago. I noticed that any MPEG or AVI files I play with WMP or
DivX player play the audio just fine but the image is upside down. If I
play the same files on RealMedia Player or Quicktime Player, the video
is fine. If I play a WMV on WMP, the video is fine.
I don't have any idea what the cause of this is. I haven't done
anything or changed anything recently. The only software I've installed
recently was Shareaza and a game demo from EA games (Medal of Honor:
Pacific Assault). I haven't tried going back to a restore point yet or
getting SP2. I'd like to know what is wrong before I decide on a course
of action.
I'm wondering if it could be virus related? I'm running Norton AV with
up-to-date virus definitions. I'm also running Webroot Spy Sweeper, if
that makes any difference.
Anyone seen or heard of this before?
