Error code 55

| I am encountering an issue when trying to play an mp3
| audio file with any application on my machine. Windows
| Media Player 9 provides an error code 55 when I try to
| play a mp3 file. I've got all (including sp2) updates for
| Windows. I've tried to replace the "l3codeca.acm" file in
| my system32 folder with the most recent Faudhauffer codec
| (also l3codeca.acm)Still error code 55.

| I've also tried deleting the above mentioned codec,
| rebooting and then trying to play an mp3 file with Media
| player 9 still no luck. Please note that I've gone thru
| the same process as mentioned above and what happened then
| was Media player 9 downloaded the proper codec
| automatically.

| I bald so I cannot pull any hair out! Can some one get
| back to me regarding this?
