99.99% of the people who post here either don't care how it happened, or
would not understand it even if I had explained it. Add to that I'm not
sitting at your/their PC to see what changes have been made. I market my
posts to the audience here. After posting some 40,000 replies, I have a
good idea of what user level most of the people around here are. :)

Reinstall audio/video drivers is generally a great idea no matter what
problem you have. It's not like it's hard to do. It sounds more like you
might be having a code issues. - http://www.zachd.com/pss/pss.html#codecs.
It's not, not having the correct codec installed, but maybe a bad install of
a codec.
