What? :| The device is problem, both according to iRiver and Napster. You
just said "..according to Napster, is not compatible" - That means you can't
use it with files download from them.
IRvier too, says "...When WMA have been protected within Windows Media
Player, the files are then unable to be copied and sent to the iFP player."

Ockham's Razor seems to apply here, no? Both people are telling you the
same, the solution is to not copy DRM-enable (i.e Protected) files to the
player, it does *not* support them.

Mine is an iRiver iFT-890... which is brand new on the market. According to the iRiver website, my player is supposed to be able to receive copied MP3s and .wma files straight from the Windows Media Player. The Windows Media Player will identify the iRiver device, then I check all the music I wish to transfer.... then, ka-blewie! This error message pops up (C00D11AA) and the WMP shuts down. Seems to me that the problem is on the Windows side of the issue. > > Now, Chris, if you're going to respond to this, I am asking that you consider what I have explained to you and not give me Ockham's Razor (the simplest answer is usually the right answer, for those who don't know what that means), as it is not the device that is the problem... both according to Napster and according to iRiver. > > > "Chris Lanier [MVP]" wrote: > > > It's the player doesn't support DRM-enabled then you can not transfer them. > > The FAQ's at Napster explain this. > > > > -- > > Chris Lanier > > Microsoft MVP - Digital Media > > --- > > "soccah" <soccah@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > > news:B58C1C43-8A62-4500-9CEE-366C95A38E3D@microsoft.com... > > > Error Message- "Windows Media Player cannot copy the file because the > > license associated with the file restricts it." > > > > > > I have Windows Media Player 9 > > > > > > Operating System- Windows XP > > > > > > I was trying to copy music onto my mp3 player (Creative MuVo which at this > > time isnt compatible with napster), napster said i could use Media Player 9 > > to copy the music I had purchased from them as a way to get my music onto my > > mp3 player. > > > > > > Help would be appreciated, Thanks > > > > > > > > > > > >
