time display problem when CD plays

Hi --

When I play a CD in Windows MP 9 (XP home edition), the
time display for each song and total time is whacked:
total time = 705:14:36, for example. For the life of me,
I can't find help on this anywhere and don't relish
paying $35 to figure it out. Any help?
