Keith,
Thanks for the post, I tired what you said and I am still getting the same error message. here is the problem that I am having
I have been trying to play my friends CD and for some reason some of the .AVI files and some of the .MPEG files are not being recognized.
I am running WIN XP SP1 WMP for XP version 8.00.00.4487 with all the updates. I am able to play some but not all the error code I get is incorrect Function. I have tried playing the files from the CD itself, I have tired copy the file locally to the Hard drive and same problem each time. I have noticed it keeps trying to download a codex driver but comes up with an error message. Than plays the audio part of the file but not the video portion. I have tried the CD on other peoples machines from WIN 98 and up and the only PC it appears to work on is my buddies WIN 98 pc that he burned the cd from.
Does anyone have any advice??
