Again: Random errors by using IE on a website are common and expected.
Not get a real webbrowser and you'll be able to browse websites normally
and you'll also get some useful error messages.

I posted to this foum and was able
to resolve the issue based on a response from a power user. I just renamed
the file as codec.dll.old and that resoved the problem.

Damn, why do you install codecs?

I've run virus scans and adware programs but no help there.

I guess you meant "adware scan programs".
