Hi there,
This is often caused by a compatibility problem with the video card,
but not a dire one. In Windows Media Player, try going to Tools >
Options > Performance, and setting the Video Acceleration to None.
This isn't a sure fix, but I've seen it succeed many times.

WMP 10
When I attempt to view streaming Windows Video I am able to hear the
soundtrack, but I get no video. I can see the first two frames,
after
that it does not progress from there. Can, however, continue to
hear
the audio. No problem with my codec. Have checked on that. BTW,
am
using broadband cable wireless. No problem with my download speed,
just problem with streaming.
On some sites the link is in a format which allows me to download
the
clip to my drive, and those play OK. But when the link is formatted
to
only allow streaming, I cannot view the video. This happens on any
site
I visit which offers streaming Windows Video.
BTW, I used to be on ADSL. Was told that Win XP, may have optimised
streaming performance to ADSL. Not sure if that is true, and what I
can do about it.
Any and all suggestions gratefully received. *
