My termonology is quite clear as streaming refers to "playing" and casting or
No, it does not. It refers to the method of delivery remotely from a
server - specifically from a streaming media server allowing random
access to the stream content, rather than a web server delivering a
long term file download.
broadcasting refers to a server sending audio.
No, it does not. Broadcasting is any method of delivering identical
content to multiple participants at the same time. In internet terms,
multicasting is often used interchangably with broadcasting because
each endpoint sees the same content at broadly the same time.
If you don't understand what I
am asking why have you repeatedly responded to my post with no concise
information or help?
He responded with precisely the answer I'd have offered given your
vague requirements - that Flip4Mac Quicktime plugin is now the method
recommended by Microsoft for viewing WM content on an OSX Mac.
Please ONLY qualified technical individuals should respond.
I am wishing to know how to stream (PLAY!) audio through WMP. NOT Quicktime,
iTunes or any other program.
Thank you to anyone who is able to assist.
PS. Please Corentin, do not respond I am looking for actual help here.
Well you should start by posting specifics rather than expecting
people to wring the facts of what you want out of you. Here for
example
"I have tried using mms:// link" - - Which MMS link - where ?
Did you try it from a link
in a web page using a browser ? (Hint : That won't work)
Did you place this link in an ASX file and if so, did you reference it
from a link in a web page - or use Open URL in the player to connect
to the content ?
If you opened the link to an ASX file which referenced the mms URL,
which browser did you use ? Did you try another browser ? Did you try
the link on a PC at a friends place to establish it's even live ?
Did you try changing the link to use http or rtsp protocol, and if so
- what was the result - the same error message or a different one ?
You see where I'm going yet ?
Please provide specifics and perhaps somebody can answer your
question, but disrespecting the hard working members of the community
who are spending their spare time to help you isn't constructive.
Cheers - Neil
