    WMP does not play AVI files. The DivX codecs are for Quicktime...

    This simply won't happen since MS never indended this app for this
    purpose... :-\

    Sure. Use QT player or if you don;t like it or if it doesn't support the
    codecs you need, try MPlayer or VLC.
    You can even use an app like FFMpegX to convert some DivX you can't read
    to a format you can play (ex .avi with a wma soundtrack to an avi with a
    .mp3 soundtrack).
