Are the original files closed captioned (caption stream seperate) or open
captioned (part of the main video image)? If they are open captioned the
resizing will distort them a little. You'll have to check if the zune
supports closed caption.

The subtitles are hard encoded to the video... They only get distorted,
though, when I have to convert weird resolutions, to keep the aspect ratio
the same, as encoding does not allow you to choose odd numbered
resolutions... Such as 320x171.
Anything going from 640x480 to 320x240 looks great!
I like the fact that the Zune does NOT automatically stretch video so it
matches the screen size!
