Yes, you're missing that the IP address is irrelevant to the encoder!
It's important to the server or player end in order to connect to the
encoder IP+Port, but not really a useful feature where that data is
available more reliably in other ways.

Under the connections tab we see: Internet - "Could not detect connection".
It detects the LAN but not the Internet URL.
We can see the URL of our IP using RUN/CMD/Ipconfig.
WME almost never detects the correct external IP if you're behind a
router. I'm not totally clear what results in a successful IP
identification, it would need to do some sort of low level tracert
command to get the next-hop IP address.
The easiest way is just to use one of the more reliable IP checking
sites to determine this, such as www.whatismyip.com
