Yes, I think so. First go to the Compression tab, then Edit and choose
"Allow interlaced processing". Now go to the Processing tab.

The checkbox and dropdown for Video Interlacing is now checked, I'd
set it to Deinterlace and see what happens next. That's a different
setting than the default Auto.

You might want to run the Detect button to see if it reliably detects
the interlacing status of your individual clips first.

If you could let me know the results, cause it's not an experiement
I've tried, it would be interesting to know for future reference

If it doesn't work as expected, you might find a plugin on your PC is
registered to handle deinterlacing with DirectShow. I've got for
example Nero Deinterlace on my plugins tab (click Register Plugin to
see the list) which is because I've got a Nero video editnig package
on my PC.
