I'm afraid I can't help you there. I've got ATI kit here too but it's
all so old they'd laugh me out of the building if I tried to raise a
support call on it ;-))

Presumably your drivers are the latest and greatest...

Good luck.

Ok it's the ATI Drivers. I jsut tested it with the nvidia card and all is
fine.
hmm should I now go to ATI and report this bug?
What's the best way to go about this?

Well I was hoping I could do a screen grab of what I'm seeing but I have to
turn off hardware acceleration to do that and that would defeat my purpose
since that fixes the problem. So I will post the file I made, but I figure
you will prob see them just fine. I looked @ it on 5 machines I have here
and I get the same results on all of them that have the default settings
turned in on the wmp. Any ways here are the files.

I wonder if anyone else has the same issue.

I'm sorry to say, no I don't.

The only common content between the two clips was the LHS navigation
and the windows media knowledge center logo and mouse selection of the
text below that.

In both clips tried with overlays or high quality mode alternately,
there was no perceptible issue with the content display.

All text was uniformly sharp between the clips, and all images used a
reduced colour pallet as you would expect with this codec (resulting
in poor quality of 'JPEG' style photo type images but good 'GIF' style
palletised images and text).

I'll try tonight to do the capture on a 24 vs 32 bit display mode
setting, but I can't currently repeat your problem here on multiple
machines.
