Stream flow: DV Camcorder(no tape) -Firewire -1394 Connection -Local Area
Connection -WAN Mini Port PPPOE -Firewall- ISP- The World.
The firewall exception of http:xx.xxx.xxx.xx:8080 uses the fixed IP address
of the LAN. (machine)
I finally figured to ignore the Encoders suggestion of the fixed IP address
of the LAN, and now know to look up the dynamic IP of the PPPOE in order to
access via URL http:// xxx.xx.xx.xx:8080.
Is there any way to utilize the LAN IP in the URL since it is always the
same? I am having to forward the ever-changing IP via email or messenger so
that outsiders can access the stream. The only options I know of are a DNS
service or changing my ISP service to a fixed IP.
Thanks for all the good information here.
