May I ask what was the source file before you encoded it into WMV format
and which video card are you using?

I have a 111 mb file containing a 1920x1080i image from wttw digital in
chicago. It's a 30 second video of chicago images.
I captured it using a mdp120 card to a transport stream format (.ts). I
converted the image to a .mpg using hdtv2mpeg. So far so good. The
resulting .mpg file plays in Windows media 9 player, my ATI player, and
WinDVD.
I decided to encode the file to windows media 9 format to see how small I
could get the file. I followed the guidelines Microsoft posted about
creating HD media for Windows Media Player. The resulting media 9 file is
736 mb !!!!!
The file playback takes my 2.4 P4 with 1gb memory to it's knees...The
playback is not smooth.

The file is 111 mb in size. If anyone would like a crack at it send me an
ftp address and I will send it to you.
