Thanks, Marc, for your reply. I had upgraded my AOL Instant Messenger since
my last successful encoding session, and it installed a number of programs I
did not want, such as WildTangent and eBates. I had already gotton rid of
these, so I uninstalled the entire new AIM, but my encoding problem still
existed.

I have since solved my problem, though. I found a program called dBpowerAMP
Music Converter which converts from WMV and WMA to RM, and vice versa, as
well as other formats, if you download the right codecs from their site at
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/. There have been no problems with my final
output since I started using this program.
