Dnsapi errors

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

The above errors or warning appear in the event logs of our windows server
2003 file servers. We are a windows server 2000 domain. It appears that
these servers are not registering dns and ipconfig register dns is not
working.

Any intelligence on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
