Try the "Back" or "Home" buttons in the toolbar.

Yeah get a tabbed browser like firefox, opera, safari, the list goes on. If that is not an option that get some sort of toolbar. Otherwise:
CMD+W will close a window
CMD+Q will close an application

I hope that helped some way?
