question about new Mac coming

I am a pc-user (used to use amiga 10 years ago) and I was wondering if a
mac quad with dual cores will come out (4 times dual core) for 4000 euro.
Or
a G6 with cell processor ... is it all future talk, fake promises or ...I
want know more. Since my favorite app is lightwave I have no problem
switching to mac. And my brother would want it more than I do. So I need
some info, I dont even know if this is the right newsgroup.
