Mac not able to access folders within server 2k3 share

I am attempting to map user home directories from a Mac to smb://<servername>/homes$/$sAMAccountName$. The Mac will mount <servername>/homes$ to the user's home directory, but is unable to mount <servername>/homes$/<username> as the user's home directory. This was working perfectly with every individual user's home directory as a share, but I would like to have one share instead of 600+.

Thanks,
Justin
