Mike-

I use the Go-Connect to Server... menu and enter a server address such as
"afp://192.168.11.2/" or "smb://192.168.11.2/" as appropriate. After
going through the logging-in process, the server shows up on my desktop.

Once the server is mounted, it is simply a matter of opening it to the
folder where you want to transfer files to or from, and dragging them
where they need to go. Assuming you have write privileges, you should
also be able to create folders on the server.
