If your web server supports WebDAV file sharing then you can use the Go
--> Connect to Server... dialog to connect via "http://serverName".
I've used this very little and haven't tried uploading files--only
downloading. There's a possibility it's limited to downloads only like
FTP, but it may be worth pursuing.
You can also transfer files using the command line in the Terminal
application. FTP is built in. You can learn the syntax by typing "man
ftp" at the prompt.
