I don't believe you can allocate more memory to the MRJ components
themselves; they are shared libraries which are called into action by
various applications and utilities.

As you didn't specify which OS you were using, I'm assuming it to be OS
9. I would suggest that you connect that machine and activate Software
Update (click on the Apple icon, click on Control Panels, then click on
Software Update). Your version of MRJ is outdated and the last available
for OS 9 (which is MRJ 2.2.5) should show up in the software list.

If Software Update doesn't work for you, searching for MRJ on the Apple
Support site should get you to the download link.

Perhaps updating your MRJ to the latest will take care of your problem.
