I have downloaded the latest Microsoft User Authentication Module (UAM) for
OS X (i.e., downloaded directly from Microsoft's website.) The installation
to a Mac OS 10.2.8 computer seemed to proceed flawlessly. After the
installation, the object "MicrosoftUAM.uamx" is exactly where "ReadMe.rtf"
states it should be.
However, when I authenticate to a Windows Server-based resource, I still see
the native OS X SMB authentication dialog (i.e., the Microsoft UAM is NOT
being invoked.)
I have rebooted, and I have made sure that no corresponding credentials are
stored in the "Keychain". (This is definitely the case because the native
OS X authentication dialog comes up each time asking for a password. I
purposely choose not to save to the Keychain for diagnostic purposes.) I
have also applied all currently available patches to this OS 10.2.8
installation.
Is there something else I need to do to configure OS X to use the Microsoft
UAM? Are Microsoft's installation instructions in "ReadMe.rtf" incomplete?
