I'm trying to connect an OS9 Mac to a 2003 exchange server. The Mac can ping
the IP address of the exchange server but it cannot ping the FQDN of the
exchange server (it's all on an internal IP address range, 192.168.0.x) even
though I have put together a proper HOSTS file (I think I have). The Mac is
using DHCP to get's its IP address (from the same machine running exchange)
and it shows that the DNS server is the proper #, it can't ping the exchange
server name.

Where is the HOSTS files supposed to go? Just to check

The HOSTS file looks like

SERVER1 CNAME myexch.myexchange.edu
myexch.myexchange.edu A 192.168.0.10

I can ping 192.168.0.10 but when I try to ping SERVER1 it fails

Any ideas?
