Belkin manufactures a host of excellent products. While some of its
products may not compare to other manufacturers' products I doubt that
Belkin would make a wireless router that doesn't extend a decent signal
    more than a few feet.

I've had great luck extending the quality of my signal by placing it
high in the room on top of an entertainment center. There it won't be
blocked by surrounding items or receive much interference.

Be sure also that your router isn't set to broadcast a limited signal,
which is sometimes necessary in areas with lots of wireless signals.

Finally, although you see a couple of bars your signal quality may be
fine. Unless you are seeing degraded performance I wouldn't worry about
    it.
