processor trouble using VPC

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I just installed VPC 7 on my PowerBook G4 running with a 1.5 GHz
processor. However, VPC actually does not recognize my 1.5 GHz
processor but rather runs a machine with a 686 processor, cadenced at
300 MHz. I have been told there is nothing I can do about it. May
someone confirm please? Besides, does that mean that VPC 7 always
emulates a 300 MHz Processor, or would it emulate, say a 600 MHz
processor if I had a faster processor installed?
