Virtual PC 7 Upgrade

My mother runs an old mac G3 tower (blue) with Virtual PC (VPC) 3 and
Windows 98. She wants to upgrade to a new imac G5 which will only run
VPC 7. Can she upgrade to VPC 7 without upgrading to a newer version
of windows? She has the Windows 98 cd disk which came with VPC 3.
She does not want to run anything but Windows 98. She only uses VPC
because she has an old version of WordPerfect Legal Addition for
Windows 98. Is anyone running a new imac G5 with VPC 7 and Windows 98?
