Seriously, I found VPC 7.02 will only work with the networking set to
Virtual Switch. Try setting that in the PC Settings menu, then start XP.

This is an indication of a problem with MTU settings in Windows. To
confirm, I'll bet that you can browse the Internet but you cannot get
to www.microsoft.com Am I correct?

If so, follow the instructions in the link below to resolve the issue.
Don't forget to restart Windows when you have completed the changes in
the Registry.
