People,
I have an HP 882C inkjet attached to my eMac via USB. It works fine -
for Mac apps. My eMac is running OS 10.2.8. I also have VPC 7.0.2
running Windows XP Home. I set my VPC settings for enabled USB and also
checked the option for my 882 printer.

When I go to Start/Settings/Printers and Faxes in Windows, it shows a HP
DeskJet 882C as the default printer and it says it is ready. However,
when I try to print from any application in Windows, the print window
shows "error - printing" in the status column. That's all she wrote. As
far as I can tell I have everything set up properly but still no
success. Am I missing something basic or is there some hidden setting I
need to check?

JohnBy the way, once I've tried to set up my printer to work with my VM, it
hoses up printing ability on the Mac side, EVEN after I disable the USB
and printer in PC settings AND then restart the VM. In order to get my
printer squared away to work with Mac apps again, I must do a total
restart of the Mac OS.

Use the VM Additions print driver instead of your HP driver.
