I'm attempting to install OS/2 Warp Server to eBusiness within Virtual
PC 7 for Mac; so far it has failed to partition the disks when
selecting 'Windows NT' as the OS choice - I get the farthest by
choosing 'UNIX' as the OS type, at which point the install formats the
virtual disk and begins copying files, but fails to recognize the
volume(s) it just created during the previous boot. It then re-starts
the installation process from zero.
There is a code on the disk which says what operating system the disk
is formatted for. I suspect OS/2 is checking this code and finding
Unix, it is not booting.
Suggestion:
try using your os/2 fdisk utility to partition the disk. Delete all
the exiting partitions and start from scratch.
You could get a copy of Linux live and boot the linux cd and use the
linux fdisk utility to set the disk type.
maybe you can use the dos fdisk utility to format the disk.
maybe you could set the disk type to dos.
