Win XP running on MacIntel boxes. What's the scoop with VPC?

Hello
I just saw the post:

Apparently, you can now run Windows XP SP2 on MacIntel computers. That's
great news for those of us that need a little bit more processor
performance, but it may be bad news for Virtual PC.
Can anyone shed some light on the future of VPC? Will it be migrating to a
dual-boot "bootloader" configuration so that it can be booted natively
alongside OS X? Will it continue to run in a separate layer on top of OS X?
Will it continue to be the same great software that it is today?
I'm very curious.
Mainly because, although this new development is a great step towards
hardware and OS freedom, I'm not sure if its current incarnation will be
robust enough for end users (fro a perspective of installation ease and
support). I think that this effort will still need paid engineers making it
work and supporting it.
I'd gladly pay for an upgrade to Virtual PC if it meant that I'd get to
use Windows native on a MacIntel box, and that was supported through
Microsoft channels.
Here's to the future.
