You're running AutoCad in VPC? With an 867Mhz processor on the Mac? And
you would like to get better performance? With all due respect, be
grateful that it even runs.
Windows XP with SP2 will obviously run slower than SP1. There are many,
many fixes in SP2 as well as quite a few add-ons such as popup blocker,
Windows firewall, etc. So, yes, there would be a hit in performance.
The alternative is to run SP1 and a third party firewall, a third party
popup blocker and antispyware software as well as antivirus software
(bet your SP1 didn't have any of this protection when you did those
benchmark tests, right?). Or you could just leave your virtual machine
exposed to the risk of spyware and viruses. Of course, that means
starting Windows one day (soon) and having it shut down cause you were
infected by the Blaster or Sasser worm or another nasty variant of
these. Your choice.
