Hi Steve.
Thanks again. My Win '98 is on a 'product recovery CD' for the IBM
ThinkPad i1400, and it says on it that it can only be used on an IMB
computedr. Using your VPC7 Win98 container I was able to mount the Cd
and change to the D:\> prompt, but typing setup.exe yeilded 'Bad
command or file name'. Clicking on the CD image in the tray, then
'capture CD image' allowed me to browse the CD ('untitled') through a
few folders but no 'choose'able files.
Is the floppy disk image you refer to above the win98emergency boot
disk.vfd on your website? I was unable to mount that as a CD image
either.
I'm happy to return the VPC7 plus XP pro to the store and exchange it
for VPC with Win 2000, but I thought it less hassle if I can get this
to work. Unless you thought 2000 was better, as I have noted 98 to
crash alot in the past
Thanks again
Robin
.
