Re: usual keyboard and mouse problem..

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

#1 - Did you upgrade from VPC 5 or 6 to VPC 7? There is a BIOS change
going from earlier version to VPC 7, and that:
a) can cause problems with the keyboard and mouse
b) could possibly cause some apps to think they're on a new machine

#2 - Beyond that, run Disk Utility and confirm the SMART status of your
drive.

#3 - You added RAM? If the RAM was not from Apple, it may be marginal
to bad RAM. That will cause no end of trouble with Virtual PC. If you
can, try removing the new ram and see if the problems persist.

Finally, there are stability issues with Tiger 10.4.2 and VPC 7.0.2,
primarily a number of kernel panics that manifest when the machine when
available ram is low and the mac is forced to page out to disk. Based
on rumors, we're hoping this will be addressed soon with an Apple
update.

Your best option for stability at the moment would be to continue to
run VPC in Panther. If that's not an option, there's not a lot to be
done at the moment.
