Since the VPC image file is non-bootable, if you double click on the file from Mac Finder it MIGHT appear as an image on the desktop. Then you can use Finder to drag your precious files to OS X folders.
Your problem is why I strongly recommend that VPC users always use a d: drive to store their Windows/DOS data rather than in the c: drive. See

Virtaul PC6 runs OK but when I select the connectix windows 2000 and select startup the ODS window opens and I get a Missing operating system prompt. I am very scared of losing the dos data I have stored on my drive if I reload the windows OS. Can anyone help?
