Can use same vhd file on pc as mac

Hi,

I have a vhd of windows XP running on my host windows XP.
I want o know if I can just copy the vhd file to a host running
Mac OS and run up the guest os as I would on windows.

That is, is the vhd file portable from windows to mac.
I hope it is, otherwise I have t ospend another 5 hours
recreating a new vhd on mac and moving the files across.
